On the Radio

They said it really loud, they said it on the air, on the radio …

So a radio interview is a different animal.

No one sees you, they can’t re-read something you wrote that you thought was kind of clever but was actually kind of confusing, and if a moment of silence happens to occur, it is anything but golden. You need words, plenty of them, and the words have to paint  pictures, and the pictures have to be of some value to all those listeners you hope are listening.

Funny how it always gets back to stories. Whether it’s a novel, a speech, or just conversation over cocktails, good stories are what keep people interested.

I got a shot on the radio recently, an internet station in California. Thanks so much to host Candy O’Donnell, whose show is called Literary Scribes. Click here to check out some radio talk about Bella and self-publishing.

Steve, well said. Was interviewed several times on NPR (WAMC – Albany, NY) during my career at Northeast Parent & Child Society, promoting our program’s needs. In 2010 I had my first TV appearance in Charleston, SC- interview for my book, BELIEVE. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqe3-PIjDzU. Words come when passion lives in our hearts.
