No one sees you, they can’t re-read something you wrote that you thought was kind of clever but was actually kind of confusing, and if a moment of silence happens to occur, it is anything but golden. You need words, plenty of them, and the words have to paint pictures, and the pictures have to be of some value to all those listeners you hope are listening.
Funny how it always gets back to stories. Whether it’s a novel, a speech, or just conversation over cocktails, good stories are what keep people interested.
